ABOUT THE MACOUPIN COUNTY FAIR

According to Webster’s dictionary, the definition of gold is: something highly valued, as for purity or goodness. "Country Gold," the theme of our 155th Macoupin County Fair, invokes the images of those things highly valued. Whether

it’s a prize ribbon from a project, a memory from a carnival ride or a corn dog covered in mustard and ketchup. We hope that each person comes away from this Fair with their own personal piece of "Country Gold." Our purpose is to advance the interest of agriculture in our county. But we know that the county fair experience is more than that. It is an opportunity for rural and urban people to come closer together, to educate and entertain the public, and to develop a broader sense of community. It is our belief that these goals can be accomplished through the outstanding exhibits, attractions, livestock shows, and grandstand entertainment. We invite everyone to join us in making the 155th edition of the Macoupin County Fair "Country Gold."

Our County Fair is operated under the supervision of the Illinois Department of Agriculture, and all exhibitors and concessions are asked to comply with all rules and regulations.
